About Us

Established in 2012, St. Cats & Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer group with the goal to trap/neuter/return (TNR) as many feral and free-roaming cats as possible within the Scranton, Pennsylvania area. Working with the community, we strive to reduce cat overpopulation by trapping and transporting feral cats, having them spayed/neutered with the help of Eastern Pennsylvania Animal Alliance (EPAA), and returning these cats to their original locations where caregivers continue to provide food and shelter.

In 2014, the City of Scranton leased to St. Cats the old Nay Aug Zoo building, which has given us a much-needed facility to continue our work. The building allows us to care for many cats, giving them room to play in the renovated large-animal stalls and meet-and-greet potential adopters. We are now able to have dogs fixed at the Zoo as well, hence adding to our original name.

For more about low-cost spay and neuter options with EPAA, please visit the EPAA website or our Trap-Neuter-Return page.
